Chapter 15

"Okay Zac, lets go over this new song of yours." Isaac said.

"Great. This is what I have so far."

Zac gave them a couple of sheets of paper.

"Gee Zac, its practically the whole song." Taylor commented.

"So?"

Isaac started trying out the music on the keyboard.

"I think it might sound a little better if it were slower."

"Yeah, I was thinking that." Zac agreed.

"Here, lemme try." Taylor said.

In case you couldn't tell, Isaac, Taylor and Zac were finally getting to work on their new album. They were in their old house, which they jokingly referred to as the 'three house garage studios'.

A couple of days before they had pulled out some of their old stuff and brought out their new stuff. As with their last records, Taylor was insistent that one of Those songs were on the album. "Those songs" was the simple name given to the songs that were inspired by or written about Her. Isaac and Zac usually went along to humour him.

She had always been a delicate subject. Diana and Walker had been a little concern, but even after years of therapy with a wide variety of therapists nothing had any effect on the dreams. However, tha reality was there had been no real problems or dangers other than an understandable obsession to make her a part of his waking life as well.

"Yep. That definitely sounds better." Taylor said.

Zac and Isaac nodded their agreement.

"Ok, lets get some other instruments."

The room was near to cluttered with instruments. A drum kit, two keyboards, two electric and acoustic guitars (one of which was Alanna), a bass, a harmonica, congas, other percussion and goodness knows whatever else.

"You know, I think it might go better with the music if we change this line a bit." Isaac commented.

"To what?" Taylor asked.

"We only need to drop a syllable." Zac pointed out. "How about 'aren't' instead of 'are not'?"

They tried it out.

"No, it still doesn't seem to flow right." Taylor said frowning.

"What about 'you're'?" Isaac suggested. " 'when you're not here', 'when you aren't here'."

They messed around with the song a bit more, then dropped it for the day. They then dug up another song that Taylor had remembered for some reason. It was one they had started five years ago and was almost done.

"Yep. That sounded pretty good. But I think something's missing..." Isaac said as they finished up for the day.

But while the writing was finished, the song kept plying in Taylors' mind. It was, of course, one of Those songs. While he tried to drive Her from his mind and replace Her with thoughts of Jade as he went to sleep, he couldn't help but think how appropriate it was that the song was titled 'Can't stop'.
