Chapter 7

"Have you checked your e-mail this morning Tay?"

"Yep."

"Did you see the article I sent you?"

"Yeah. How cool is that?"

"MOE Records made the top ten record labels! It's not just cool. It's awesome, fantastic, magnificent, brilliant, -"

"Zac, we're number four on the list," Taylor pointed out. "So not only are we in the top ten, but we're also in the top five. Now that's awesome. I read the blurbs it had on the different labels too. Did you?"

"Umm, no," Zac admitted. "I was to excited to see us on the top ten. I mean, I knew after all this success that we were doing well, but not how well."

"Well, it says 'The Hanson family founded MOE Records in 2005. It is one of the few labels that can honestly say the music come first, which is reinforced when considering the attitudes of the different artists who have been signed. This list includes Hanson themselves, Indecision, The Amazons, Blue Fire, Stanley Braddock, Google Eye Glasses, Monkey Business, Shining Armour, Felicity Johnson, Stormy Flanders, Four Amigos and more. While some of the above have broken up, none of them were one-hit wonders. In fact, that is one aspect of MOE Records that is lacking - the one-hit wonders. For a relatively young company in comparison to the rest of the labels in this list, they have a remarkable knack for weeding out the rubbish and giving the good-quality artists room to breathe, grow and create.' How cool is that?"

"Talk about an ego trip. I think I'm going to frame it and hang it on a wall somewhere."

"I'm getting that warm, glowy feeling. I have got to show this to Ike," Taylor grinned.

"Warm glowy feeling?" Zac repeated. "I think you've been writing those romance novels too long, Miss Jordan."

"Y'know, one of these days," Taylor said, glaring at him through the monitor, "they are going to invent a way for me to be able to wop you over the head long distance."

Zac laughed.

"Actually, do you know what's interesting? The different ways we've gone since Hanson," Taylor said suddenly.

"Yeah," Zac agreed. "I'm gone into film and television, you're a novelist, and Isaac has, umm..."

"Isaac is a professional investor."

"Oh, is that what you call it?"

"Yes. Isaac and Babsie invest in something new all the time. At first it was just shares and houses they now rent out or sell when there's a boom, and now well, lets just say sometimes I think he owns half of Tulsa."

"Really?" Zac laughed.

"Yeah, this Teen Bar of Babsie's is only one of the ideas they came up with. They're forever helping out friends and family and friends and family of friends and family with their business ventures and stuff. You remember cousin John?"

"Which one?"

"We have more than one cousin John?"

"I think so."

"Oh... really? I can't place another John."

"Well, I might be wrong, but I do think there is more than one... Which one is this?"

"He's the one that is always pestering us for money."

"Oh! Him! What about him?"

"Isaac got really exasperated with him one day and told him that if he could come up with a feasible business idea and be open to any ideas he may suggest or demand, then he would give him all the help he needs."

"What? Is Isaac crazy? Everyone knows John has never had a successful business in his life."

"Yeah, well, John came up with an idea, and one evening, he, Isaac and Babsie ripped it apart, fused it with one of John's previous failures and voila! Isaac and Babsie now own half of John's only successful business."

"You're kidding."

"Nope. They're both very strict about what they will and won't invest in. They have to be. The number of proposals they get... it's crazy. But yeah... I do honestly think that they own half of Tulsa sometimes. Hey, how's Morgan doing?"

"Oh, she's great. She's really enjoying working on this screen play with Larry. Y'know, depending on Larry's final word when it's finished, I'm considering producing it. But, uhh, don't tell that to Morgan."

"Sure. Wow, I'd bet she'd be ecstatic to see her screen play come to life."

"Who wouldn't? I know I was."

"Dude, that was the craziest movie I have watched in a long time."

"Why, thank you."
