He, Isaac and Zac were having a conference regarding the future of MOE Records.
“Yep,” Zac and Isaac said together.
“Okay. MOE Records will now branch out and form MOE Publishing and MOE Productions. We’ll all work on all of them but I’ll be focusing on MOE Publishing, seeing as I am a writer myself.”
“I’m MOE Productions, of course,” Zac said. “After all, I’m the one who does the most in the way of movies and stuff.”
“So that leaves MOE Records to me,” Isaac said. “Which is good, what with Babsie and Carmen being good at finding great soloists and bands.”
“It happened by default again,” Zac grinned. “Just like when we were choosing instruments.”
“Yeah, it did, huh?” Taylor smiled. “Hey Zac, could I talk to Morgan when this is over?”
Zac shook his head.
“She’s out with Paul.”
“Oh.”
“How’s Kelsey these days?” Isaac asked with a sly grin, having heard about the bet.
“Wouldn’t you like to know, horizontal mmmbop king?”
“Y’know,” Taylor said thoughtfully, “Mike was telling me that he had said ‘horizontal mmmbop’ to his girlfriend. She understood what he meant, but he had to explain that ‘MMMBop’ was a song that we wrote.”
“Well, she’s part of a generation that probably hasn’t really heard it. It was, what? Twenty, twenty-five years ago?” Isaac said.
“You know, I heard them play that on an oldies station the other day,” Zac said thoughtfully. “I’m not that old am I?”
“You’re thirty-six next month,” Isaac pointed out.
“Yeah? And you’re forty-one the month after.”
“Forty-one,” he repeated. “Oh man, I’m old.”
“We’re all old. We’re old farts,” Taylor joked. “The songs we wrote as kids are being played on oldies stations. We’re so old.”
“And Isaac’s losing his hair,” Zac grinned. “MMMBop!”
“I am not,” Isaac muttered. “And you never answered my question. How is Kelsey?”
“She pretends to be forth coming, but I know she’s been trying to avoid it,” Zac replied.
“If Kel doesn’t want to have any more… why press it Zac?”
“Because I want four or five kids. And this one will make four.”
“Oh look, Zac can add,” Isaac grinned.
“Pity you can’t, Mr Twenty Kids.”
“I think Zac resents me for marrying someone who wants as many kids as I do,” Isaac said to Taylor.
“Possibly. Say, have either of you spoken to Sarah recently?”
“I have,” Zac replied. “She and Jim are really in the dog house with all the fans right now. They posted an announcement in their official e-zine. I have it somewhere…”
Zac fished around through some papers, but didn’t find it.
“Ahh, whatever. It basically said that last June, Sarah and Jim celebrated their second wedding anniversary. They also said that their daughter Nadine is eighteen months old. Anywhere and everywhere there are Dinomight fans or music media it’s going crazy. Believe me, I know. A couple of my work mates are fans and when they found out, they asked me about it, and how long I’ve known and all this stuff,” Zac had a pained expression on his face. “I sure wish they had decided to come clean sooner. Hiding it for two years is much more exhausting. Both the hiding and the revealing.”
“When did the issue come out?” Taylor asked.
“Oh, just last week. I’m going to have to make a formal announcement on this weeks IMHBITD,” Zac commented thoughtfully. “Fun.”
