"You know honey, if you're gonna stare at her like that, you'll give people the wrong idea." Rita commented quietly.
Taylor smiled and reached for her hand.
"Yeah, I know. Sorry."
The thing was, this woman had (or someone who knew her had) sent a couple of demos to their record company. They had decided to check her out. Err... not like that! Wipe that dirty thought from your mind right now. Isaac and Taylor are married and faithful thank you very much. As for Zac... well, we all know how he feels about dating. He won't.
Not that she wouldn't have been worth 'checking out'...
Anyway, back to the story. So they had found some performance dates for her, and had planned to go separately to different performances. Zac had seen one the night before and didn't find anything suss. Isaac and Babsie still had to see one. Naturally they would be going together.
Usually when they did this, Zac or Taylor would go first to see an unsigned artist. Isaac and Babsie almost always went together to see one, and they always went last. After all, they always seem to stand out. Especially Babsie. And thanks to that, they were always more easily recognisable. The idea was that the person or people they were checking out wouldn't know they were there. At least if they spotted Isaac and Babsie, they wouldn't necessarily realise that Taylor and Zac and seen them preform before.
"Tay? You're staring again."
"I'm not staring, I'm watching. "
"Zac did say he didn't see any signs of lips syncing."
"Have you ever noticed that some people are very good at it?"
"Yes. My cousin is one of them."
"Really? She lip syncs?"
"You didn't really think she could sing like Macy Grey did you?"
Taylor laughed.
"Well, umm, actually, the girl is so good at that stuff, I was pretty convinced she could make her voice raspy."
"Well, she can't. And I think there are a few other she lip syncs too, but that's the only one I'm sure about."
"What about Whitney Houston?"
"No. No, she can definitely do Whitney."
Taylor nodded, and looked back to the girl singing with the guitar on stage.
"You know, I think we just found a female Jonny Lang." He joked. "Ike'll love her."
Rita giggled.
