"Gee Jarod, that's a nice way to answer the phone." Isaac replied dryly. "What did she do this time?"
"We had Eminem on the show yesterday. He and Babsie got into a full-on argument backstage."
"Point being?"
"It almost turned violent."
"Oh!"
"No, wait, I take that back, he punched her over the face."
"He what!" Isaac exploded.
Jarod nodded, then realised Isaac couldn't see him.
"Yeah... then Babsie went completely ballistic. She broke his nose and blackened his eye. I'm sure she would have done more damage, but security jumped in."
"Is Babsie ok?"
"Haven't you been listening? Babsie is fine. Eminem is not. She's pregnant and she kicked his butt."
Isaac couldn't help but snicker.
"Did you happen to get it on tape?" he joked. "I'm sure lots of people would like to see him be bashed up by a pregnant woman."
"Actually, yeah, we did. See, uhh, we were taking the camera backstage, like we sometimes do... we heard the argument - I mean, c'mon, they were so loud you could hear it echoing down the hallway." Jarod laughed. "So, of course, we go to see what on earth was going on... dude, not only was it on tape, it was on live national television."
Isaac laughed.
"We've been getting all these responses from the public about it man." Jarod continued. "It's insane. And it only happened last night!"
"What was the fight about anyway?"
"Dunno."
A little bit later Isaac had hung up the phone and had informed his brothers of the incident.
"Hey, you know..." Zac said, a wide, cheeky grin on his face. "We could release Black Eye again -"
"I don't think so Zac." Isaac cut in.
"And why not? The song is about a chick beating up a guy, well, actually, it's about Babsie bashing you, but -"
"Exactly! That's why not!"
"C'mon Ike. The label loves it. They so wanted us to put it on the last album, but instead it was only released in the US and Canada as an extra track on the first single." Taylor pointed out.
"It's so appropriate right now, what with Babsie bashing Eminem. We could release it as a joke." Zac suggested. "It'll be heck funny."
"But they'll all know it was written before the incident."
"Does it matter? C'mon! Don't you remember what Chris said? He was like 'this could so go number one'."
"And if we release it now... as a late single for our last album... while we're making the new one... and it does go number one..." Taylor continued.
"Everyone will be so interested in the new album." Zac finished, his eyes shining. "Think of it as a publicity stunt. A really funny one."
"Besides, it's totally head-banging material and you sing lead." Isaac added. "Don't think I don't know how your mind operates Zac."
Zac laughed.
"So, is that a yes or a no?"
"Lemme think about it."
