There was wrapping paper strewn all over the place. And kids running all over the place -
"like chickens with their head cut off." Diana was saying.
"Have you ever actually seen that?" Babsie asked.
"Well, no..."
"You're not gonna go into the 'well how do you know that's what chickens do when their heads are cut off?' thing are you?" Isaac asked.
"Well, I don't need to now do I?" Babsie laughed. "No, seriously, there was this cartoon series that was based on ancient civilisations called 'the Mysterious Cities of Gold'. I thought it was so cool. Anyway, at the end of each episode they'd have this mini documentary thing. At the end of one, they were talking about how this particular race actually sacrificed chickens and they would cut off its head."
"Did it run around?"
"Umm, well, it's been a few years since I last saw it. I think they had to hold it down to stop it from doing that. I forget."
Isaac laughed.
"I'd sure like to track down the show again though. I know Rita liked it too."
"Yeah we can watch headless chickens together."
Babsie laughed.
"Whoo hoo!" she joked. "Oh, he's crying again."
"Do you want me to get him?"
"Nah, he's probably hungry."
Babsie left.
"So, do you know what she's planning on doing?" Diana asked.
"Huh?"
"Well, Hot Stuff is over now. Do you know what plans Babsie has?"
Isaac was quiet for a moment.
"Well, we haven't really talked about it. I know she loved her job, it's really a shame."
Diana nodded.
"I just thought to ask you know. Because I don't think she much likes the idea of, uhh, just following you around on tour."
"No. She doesn't like just 'coming along for the ride'. I don't know what's gonna happen. All I know is that I don't want to be separated from her and Xavier like that any more."
"I can understand that. No one wants to be separated from the one they love."
