"Hey, what's so funny?"
"This fanfic."
"I thought you'd gone off it."
"Never!"
Isaac laughed.
"This writer is really good," he said. "I mean, I don't like some of her stuff - she writes slash."
"Oh."
"But she writes all these other genres too!" Xavier went on. "Stereotypical, stereotypical rip off, romance - erk! Sci-fi and fantasy, comedy, so on and so forth. It's cool, but I don't think she has a life. She updates way too often to have a life."
"Does she have a name?"
"She calls herself 'Electra'."
"Electra?" Isaac repeated. "Hang on, isn't that - Xavier?"
Xavier grinned.
"Yes!" he replied with a dopey grin, patting his guitar. "I named this guitar Electra. I had to. I get so much inspiration for songs from her stories... it's gotten to the point where I just keep her with me while I read that way I can start writing the second an idea pops into my head!"
Isaac laughed.
"Well, whatever works," he smiled. "Ever talked to her?"
Xavier shook his head.
"What would I say? Oh hey I love your stories, will you go out with me? I don't think so."
"You don't have to say anything of the sort. You don't even need to tell her who you are. Use a pseudonym - she is. Unless her parents actually named her Electra."
"Considering some of the name my sibs have, I wouldn't completely disregard that suggestion," Xavier grinned. "Why didn't I get a weird name? I want a weird name. My initials don't even make a word! I read a book where this guy, his initials made the word 'jet'. How cool is that?"
"It's cool. Say, have you finished your school work yet?"
"Umm..."
"Xavier."
"Okay, okay! Can I just finish this chapter?"
"Hmm, I suppose."
"Yay!"
Isaac smiled as he left the room.
