"Cool," Kelsey replied.
Zac put the CD into the player and pressed 'play'. They listened.
"Isn't that 'Hungover'?" asked Kelsey.
"Yeah, and his kids are singing it," Zac said, wincing slighting. "Ahh, yes, little kiddies who don't know the words and can't sing in tune. I'm sure they'll learn, but right now... no. What's on the next track?"
They skipped ahead. The next track was Hungover again, but this time they looked at each other, trying to work out who - or what - was singing it. Then Zac groaned.
"Oh no! He taught the furbies!"
Kelsey couldn't help laughing.
"It's not funny."
"Yes it is! He used your own prank against you."
"Yeah, well, I don't have to listen to it," and Zac decisively turned the CD off.
"Oh, here's the card for it," Kelsey said, handing it to him.
Zac took it and opened it. His jaw dropped as her realised that it was one of those musical cards. But instead of playing "Happy Birthday" it was playing "Hungover".
"You know, I never liked that song," he muttered.
"What does the card say?" asked Kelsey, trying to hide a smile.
"Happy thirty-third birthday Zac! Hope you like this special CD and card I made just for you," Zac read, then closed the card and smiled happily as the music ceased.
All of Isaac's kids also sent him a singing card. Just when he thought it was over, he heard Jess and her co-host Monty speak on the radio.
"So, what's this all about Jess?"
"Well, my brothers Isaac and Zac have had this thing going, where they've been playing the stupidest pranks on each other. Last Christmas, Zac gave all of Isaac's kids furbies."
"Isaac had a lot of kids huh? Poor guy!"
"Exactly. And somehow, Isaac managed to con me into playing this during the show."
"What is it?"
"Hungover furbieised."
Monty laughed and the song began. Zac got up to turn the radio off, but Avie got in the way and smiled broadly at him.
"Isaac asked so nicely that I make sure you hear it," she said sweetly, turning up the volume.
Zac gave her a pained look and covered his ear. Avie turned the volume up.
But it didn't end there. He arrived at the studio the next day for I Must Have Been Insane That Day, only to discover that Isaac had given all the crew and fellow cast members singing cards to give to Zac, and a copy of the fatal CD. When the show went to air that week, the opening theme was the furbies version of "Hungover". Apparently the crew found the whole idea rather amusing (not to mention Zac's reaction) and once they got started they kept coming up with more way to drive Zac crazy.
"Revenge," Zac declared, "will be very sweet indeed."
Kelsey laughed.
"I'm sure it will."
