"I can't believe you're still mad at Mackie. It's been six months!"
"Hey we have a perfectly good tradition in this family and he broke it."
"Tay, it's not big deal if he decided not to name his first kid after someone."
"You named your first kid after you."
"That was me. It's Mackie's kid we're talking about and I see nothing wrong with him not wanting to name him after someone. It's just something that started in this family, probably because there's such a large number people in it and we were running out of names."
"Well, you found a few unique ones."
"Which is the way I like it."
"My point still stands. We always name our first born after someone. Always! Even if it's not the parents. I mean, Marie's middle name is Jane, after our Grandma."
"Taylor, get over it. Everyone else has."
"No. This has been a long standing tradition in our family and -"
"Look, I understand how you feel, but Mackie has every right to name his kids whatever he wants, and if only for that will I stand by him. I know how it feels when people disapprove of what you name your kids."
"There is a difference between breaking tradition and naming your kids after comic book characters."
"I don't seem to remember any fuss being made when we had our fancy dress wedding. At least, not like this. And I seem to recall traditional weddings being a tradition in this family."
"Weddings are different. Besides, you were marrying Babsie."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"The woman probably coined the phrase 'traditions were made to be broken'."
"So, what's wrong with Mackie doing that?"
"He's family."
"And Babsie isn't?"
"Not blood."
"So? And she is Rita's cousin, in case you forget."
"The Hansons have always named their first kid after someone!"
"So you keep repeating!"
"And for good reason! No one's listening!"
"It's just a name, Taylor. It's not important."
Taylor glared at him, and then sighed.
"Rita's been trying to tell me the same thing."
"Maybe you should listen."
"Do you think he still wants to talk to me?"
"Of course he does," Isaac assured him.
"Hmm," Taylor grunted. "Maybe I'll ring him now."
"You should."
