"Hi Bobby. She'll be right down. How'd you get that?"
"Fight."
"I got that much."
"Some moron from school called me a junkie."
"Why would they call you a junkie?"
"'Cause they're calling Sarah a drug dealer."
Kelsey looked startled.
"Why would they call Sarah a drug dealer?"
Bobby shrugged.
"Something to do with Zoe admitting to taking drugs in some interview or whatever."
"How long has this been going on for?"
"Few weeks."
Before Kelsey had a chance to ask further, Sarah showed up.
"Hi Bobby. Sorry I took so long."
"No prob," and the two girls left for their band practice.
Kelsey walked into the lounge room where Zac was preparing to leave for the studio and told him what Bobby told her. Zac went ballistic.
"I'm going to call her up right now! If she's been taking drugs... y'know I asked her and she said no. If she has that means she lied to me. Lied to me! If she's lied to me, I don't care who objects, we're pulling her off the label. If she feels that way about being in the spotlight, then she shouldn't be in it. It's not freaking healthy -"
"Zac, put down the phone," Kelsey scolded. "You are going to get your butt over to the studio and be your usual cheerful, whacko, insane self. I am going to ring Taylor and Isaac and left them deal with it. It is hearsay, Zac. You of all people should know what it's like to be victim to rumour."
Zac opened his mouth to object, then suddenly grinned and gave her a hug and a kiss.
"Thanks Kel. I needed that. I have to go anyway, or I'll be late."
"Have fun."
"I always do."
When Zac left, Kelsey picked up the phone and called Taylor, figuring it would be easier to get hold of him than Isaac. When she had finished telling him what had occurred, he thanked her and said he'd take care of it.
"Who was that?" asked Rita.
"Kelsey. Sarah's having some problems at school with some rumours."
"Oh no. Poor Sarah."
"Yeah. The rumours seem to have started with Zoe, so I'm gonna give her a call and sort this mess out."
