Chapter 21

“I don’t know what he said to her,” Isaac was saying to Zac, “but in the last couple of days there has been a huge difference.”

“That’s great! Does he know?”

“I told him that, yes. He was thrilled. And he seems to be a bit more of his old self too. Taylor told me he’s been pretty quiet since Babs was attacked.”

“Xavier? Quiet? Ha!”

Isaac laughed.

“I seem to remember people having the same attitude about you!”

“And they still do. Hey did they ever catch the guy who attacked her?”

“Yeah,” and Isaac sounded a mixture of amusement and anger, “they found him in another part of the hospital actually. Seems Babs gave him a run for his money. Unfortunately, almost as soon as his injuries were healed he escaped.”

“Speaking of Babsie, I know something that she might be interested in when she’s... better,” Zac said, deciding he’d better change the subject.

“Oh?”

“I’ve been offered my own TV show. Y’know, interviews, music, movies, that kinda thing.”

“Hey cool! You gonna do it?”

“I think so. Gotta get some ideas and stuff together – they want it to start next year. Based in LA.”

“What’s it called? The show that is.”

“I haven’t decided yet. I suppose the logical name is ‘the Zac Hanson show’, and that’s kinda the working title at the moment, but I’m trying to think up something more original. Maybe ‘this show sucks’,” he joked.

“You would.”

“Kelsey hates the idea. Then, y’know, I suggested ‘I love Kelsey’ for a name, but for some reason she thought I was kidding.”

Isaac laughed.

“So, what’s Sarah doing next year? Has she decided yet?”

“I talked to her about it. She doesn’t really want to go solo like Zoe is – she’d rather be in a band. Jess knows of a music school in LA. Sarah would have to audition to get into it, but I don’t think she’d have much a problem with that part, and she seems to like the idea of going to school and making friends who aren’t ten years her senior.”

“Yeah, I can understand that. How’s Kel?”

“Moody. Very moody. She’s having withdrawal symptoms from her motorcycle.”

“Like that is it? When is the baby due?”

“Sometime next month.”

“That soon? Man, time flies.”

“That is does... hey, I’d better go. Talk to ya later!”

“Bye Zac.”
