Chapter 8

"Dude I still can't get over the fact we were able to do this." Zac said.

"Do what?" Isaac asked. "Kick everyone off part of the beach in order to shoot a video for two days?"

"Yeah, that. Not that it isn't totally, completely cool."

It was a few weeks later. It was early April and the guys had finally finished recording. They were now, in case you hadn't figured it out, working on the video clip for the first single. Avie was at the final call back audition, as well as Austin.

"Hey guys, ready to go surfing?" Taylor asked, walking up. "Tam wants to get started."

"Alrightly then." Isaac said gleefully.

"Yoo hoo, Darth Maul!" Zac called. "Ah ha! That's where I left you."

He bounded over and picked up his surf board.

"Ahh, freshly waxed too."

Isaac and Taylor looked at each other and snickered. Zac pulled a face at them.

"Well?" he demanded. "Are we gonna get started or not?"

"Yeah, lets go." Taylor answered.

Isaac grinned and then turned to Hope who was happily building a sandcastle with Esme and Carmen.

"Hope, whatever you do, don't follow your father's example. He's a bad influence." He said.

"Excuse me?" Zac questioned. "I believe the only bad influence around here are the people who name their kids after X-men."

"This coming from someone who names his surfboards, and skateboards, and motorbikes and -"

"And not this again." Taylor groaned. "Hello? We do have a video to shoot."

"Really?" Zac asked in mock amazement. "I had no idea."

"We could tell."

They started walked to the shore.

"Besides Zac," Taylor asked, "how much more badly influenced could Hope get?"

"Yeah? She's your daughter." Isaac snickered. "You corrupted her the day she was conceived."

"Ooh." Zac replied. "Dems fighting words."

Isaac and Taylor laughed.

"Well, hopefully there's still hope for Hope." Taylor put in, smiling at his lame joke. "Only half her genes belong to you."

"Thank goodness." Isaac agreed.

"Listen guys, I don't think I like you talking 'bout Hope like that." Zac replied, feigning hurt feelings. "If I didn't know better I'd say you were afraid she would become... a crazy drummer chick."

"Ok, you've just scared me Zac." Isaac said. "You called your daughter a chick."

"Yeah, that is scary. She's what? Two?" Taylor agreed. "No, I don't wanna think about that any more. Let's just get started."

He waved over at the director to let her know they were gonna get started. Then the guys hit the waves.
