Chapter 50

The house was a little later finished than planned, but it was still finished before Babsie had the twins.

"And for all your information, the doorbell plays 'ding dong the witch is dead'." Isaac felt to inform them the day of the grand tour.

"Typical." Zac announced.

They opened the door. And what a shock beheld them.

"Umm, guys? I don't know if you noticed, but there's a fountain in the middle of the foyer." Taylor said.

"Really? No kidding?" Babsie joked.

"Gee I wonder how it could possible have ended up there?" Isaac added.

"Actually, it's not just a fountain. It doubles as an indoor kiddie pool."

"Uhh, right." Taylor replied.

"This is like, really cool." Kelsey said. "I like, love all the mirrors."

Ahh yes. The mirrors. Wall to wall, ceiling to floor. In fact, they were on the ceiling too. Some were bent in order to create distorted reflections. And there were all sorts of little trinkets all of the place, as well as coloured lights, strategically placed for their reflections.

"Hey Babs." Isaac said suddenly. "Where's the door?"

Babsie looked around. They all looked around. They couldn't find the front door, let alone any others.

"Oh dear." She said finally in a mock alas voice. "Where oh where could the door possibly be?"

She leant back and the mirror behind her moved.

"Oh look, there's one." She grinned.

Every single room in the entire house had something quirky about it. Even rooms you wouldn't expect. Some of the highlights were the slippery dip next to the spiral staircase, the library who's shelves had been placed in a maze formation (very easy to get lost too). There was a padded room ("Zac? In you go!"). A firemen pole and a circular ballroom with some of the most amazing workmanship you've ever seen.

Actually all of the rooms had an odd shape about them. Not one square or rectangular room to be found. And apparently there were twenty-two secret passages of some description, but Isaac and Babsie refused to tell anyone where they were. "You have to find them yourself" they said, "takes all the fun out of it if we just tell you where they are".

**********

About two weeks later, they all met up with Babsie in the hospital. She had just had the twins.

"What are their names?" Rita asked.

"Ok, my little boy over here is the oldest by ten minutes. He's Jamie Cyclops."

"Cyclops?" Zac repeated. "What are you trying to do? Scar the poor guy for life?"

"Hey, Cyclops is a really cool X-men guy ok?" Isaac defended. "And we're gonna call him 'Cyke' for short."

Zac and Taylor looked at each other and shook their head in disgust.

"And the girl?" Rita cut in.

Rita obviously wasn't too ok with the name 'Cyclops' either.

"Psylocke Ann."

"Psylocke? What type of name - oh wait - it's another X-men huh?" Taylor said.

"Sure is." Babsie said. "She's cool. She has purple hair man. And well, we all know what colour my hair is at the moment..."

"Ann?" Rita inquired. "Are you going to call her Ann?"

"Lockie." Isaac replied.

"So, have you two ever considered seeing a shrink about this obsession of yours?" Zac asked.
