Chapter 47

"Psychopath?" Morgan whispered to herself.

During the time this had all been going on, she had been standing outside the door, staying quiet and out of sight. She hadn't seen everything, but she had heard what was said spoken, and the gunshot.

But she had not known what do. Poor Morgan had been standing there, frozen to the spot. Until Taylor had said 'the magic words' as it were...

As fast as her little six-year-old legs would carry her, she pelted down the street towards the others.

"Ikey! Ikey! There's a psychopath at our house!" she cried, running to him.

Isaac knelt down.

"No there isn't Morgan. Relax."

"But there is!"

Isaac looked at her for a moment, then glanced over at Zac.

"Hey Zac, wasn't your own daughter enough? Do you have to start corrupting our nieces as well?"

Zac walked over, an interested look on his face.

"How have I supposedly corrupted which niece?"

"Morgan thinks there's a psychopath at your place."

"Don't worry Morgan, the only psychopath around here is Babsie." Zac said.

Morgan shook her head furiously.

"No, no, no! Daddy said Auntie Babsie is only really silly! There really is a psychopath!" she insisted.

"Morgan?" Zac said, the colour beginning to drain from his face. "Where's Taylor?"

"The psychopath has him! And she's hurted mummy! And she made Rose cry and tried to kill her. And she has a gun and shotted it and, and," Morgan burst out crying, "And daddy called her a psychopath."

Zac wrapped her up in her arms, and looked into the confused eyes of his brother.

"Don't worry Morgan, Uncle Zac is gonna take care of it." He assured her. "Ike? Can you get me a phone?"

"What's going on Zac?"

"Just get me the damn phone."

Isaac handed him his mobile phone.

"Ike? Zac?" Babsie asked, joining them.

Zac dialled the phone.

"Why's Morgan crying? What's happening guys?" Babsie pressed.

"I don't know." Isaac replied.

Zac put the phone to his ear.

"Taylor didn't want me to tell you," Zac said, while he waited for someone to pick up at the other end, "but he has a stalker."
