Chapter 45

"So, what's happening Ike?" Taylor asked.

They were all sitting around the table eating dinner a few nights later.

"Well, assuming there aren't any more setbacks, construction should be finished by the end of next week." He replied.

"And then comes the fun part. Interior decorating." Babsie had this look in her eye.

"I don't think I want to know." Zac commented.

"Mike, don't play with your food." Rita said.

"So, when do you think we should start on the new album?" Zac inquired.

"I said it before, and I say it again. I just want to get settled in the new house before I think of any other plans. I'll think about it after December."

"What's so important about December?" Taylor asked, a little confused.

"That's when the babies are due. Duh." Isaac replied. "Sean, don't poke Esme with your fork."

"Oh, yeah, that's right. It totally slipped my mind. Twins again isn't it?"

"Yep. Sean? What did your father just tell you?" Babsie replied. "And this time, we actually came up with names in advance."

"Care to tell us? Or don't we want to know?" Zac asked cheekily.

"I'm putting my money on 'we do not want to know'." Taylor grinned.

Isaac and Babsie just looked at each other and grinned.

"Ooh!" Rita cried suddenly.

"Tobias! You're supposed to eat your food. Not throw it at your aunt." Babsie scolded.

Rita smiled as she wiped off the offending substance from her face.

"So, Zac, about those talents you scouted... since we're not gonna be working on the album until next year at least, we may as well check some of these out." Taylor said, with a sidelong glance at Isaac.

"Well, excuse me if I want a -" Isaac cut short when Babsie took his hand.

"With all the demos and stuff I took home, I'm surprised I had enough room in the bags." Zac commented. "It was so cool."

"Any stand out in particular?"

"Oh, a couple. Stanley Braddock's a guy about my age. Good voice. Only does covers. Says he has tried writing his own stuff, but he thinks it's pretty dumb."

Taylor smiled.

"Umm, there was a five-piece girl band called The Amazons. And if you ever meet 'em, I dare you to ask them why they chose that name. That aside, they were great. Lots of potential there I'd say. And they were about Jess's and Avie's ages."

"What instruments?" Isaac asked.

"Drums, keyboards, guitar, bass and violin. Apparently they play a few others too - but those were the only ones I saw. Umm, another band I saw - Darlene and the Stevenson Brothers Band - were pretty awesome. I swear that guitarist knows what he's doin'. Phew!"
