Chapter 44

"You are so drunk." Zac commented.

"No, I'm not." Kelsey replied, so obviously drunk.

Zac mentally scolded himself for not taking her home straight away. Then realised that he didn't even know where she lived now that she had moved out of her parents' house.

"Frosty, thanks for the game." He said, taking the money off the table. "C'mon Kelsey, you're going home."

"No." Kelsey insisted. "I'm stayin' right 'ere. You can't make me."

But she wasn't exactly fighting Zac as he led her out to the street.

"Well, ahh, you're obviously in no state to ride your own bike, so you can come on Elly with me. We can get your bike in the morning. No offence or anything, but your bike is so trashy, no one would be interested in stealing it."

"Jerk." She accused. "Like, don't talk 'bout ma babee like dat."

Zac ignored this comment and got her the sit behind him.

"Now hold on." He paused as her arms wrapped around him. "No, not down there. My chest not my groin."

Kelsey giggled drunkenly, and moved her hands.

"Mummy? What's Kel-Kel doing?" Xavier asked.

Babsie looked up and her eyes widened.

"Zac! Not in front of the kids."

"She's damn drunk Babsie! I can't get her the heck off me!"

"What's going on?" Isaac asked. "Oh my -"

Isaac cut himself off and helped Zac get Kelsey's ahh... get Kelsey off Zac. He had just come back from the biker bar.

"Eww!" Xavier commented as Kelsey threw up all over the floor.

"I'll get her to the bathroom." Isaac volunteered.

"And what are you doing still up anyway mister?" Babsie asked Xavier.

At around noon the next day, a very embarrassed and sleepy Kelsey entered the kitchen where Zac was sitting.

"Umm, thank you for like, letting me sleep in your bed last night." She said.

Zac shrugged. Zac had slept on an air mattress in his room, only to make sure she got to the bathroom in time in case she need to throw up, otherwise he would have slept on the couch - there just weren't any extra bedrooms.

There was silence.

"Umm, Taylor's going to like, drive me over to the bar to get my bike."

Still silence.

"I'm like, I'm really sorry for what I like, did last night."

Zac waved a hand at her.

"You were intoxicated. Forget about it." Then he sighed. "Look, I know it's gonna be way to much for me to ask you not to go into those bars again until you're twenty-one but..."

"Yeah, I know."
