Chapter 27

"Hello?"

"Hi Taylor! It's Peta."

"Hey Peta, what's up?"

"Oh, not much. Whatcha been doing?"

"Just helping out Indecision with their demos."

"Indecision?"

"Yeah, oh, that's Mackie and Zoe's band. They couldn't decide on a name."

Peta laughed.

"Hey, umm, I don't suppose you know what Zac's problem is?"

"Zac is a problem. He is a walking problem -"

"Tay, no seriously."

"I am being serious!"

"I'm talking about in reference to Kelsey."

Taylor sighed.

"I don't know. You know how Zac had a lot of problems accepting Hope after Cassie died?"

"Yeah..."

"Well, we figured he'd finally accepted her death after he accepted Hope. Apparently not."

"It was three years ago man. He's what? Twenty-two? He's needs to get out and start dating again."

Taylor grinned.

"Yeah, I know. We know. Everyone knows except Zac."

"He needs to wake up to himself. Kelsey is so totally perfect for him y'know. But she's not gonna wait around forever - in fact, I think she's already got herself a new boyfriend. Of course, knowing Kel, it won't last long, but y'know what I'm getting at."

"Oh yeah. Personally, I think he's a little scared about dating again. You know, he suffered one loss, he doesn't want to suffer another one."

"Well, I can understand that. But I still think he and Kel are perfect for each other. I've been trying to get them together for ages."

Taylor laughed.

They yakked a bit longer before hanging up. As soon as Taylor did, the phone rang again.

"Did you forget something Peta?" he asked, picking it up again.

There was no reply.

"Peta? Hello?"

Still no reply.

"Is anyone there?"

Yet another lack of reply.

"Who's there? Yoo hoo!"

Annoyed at the silence, Taylor hung up the phone.

"Crank callers." He muttered.
