Taylor shut the luggage compartment door on the bus with a satisfying thud.
“Okay,” he said. “I hope that’s everything because I refuse to open it again. Let’s go!”
Kyle led Rose and guided her up the stairs of the bus while Charlotte followed close behind. This bus was one of three – there being one for Isaac and his family, and Zac and his family as well as roadies spread throughout wherever they would fit. All of Taylor’s kids were coming, as were all of Zac’s, bar Hope of course.
Of Isaac’s family, Mystique, Nigel, Jubilee, Audrey and Zeke were coming. The older children (well, the ones they still had custody of) were busy with school or with friends as with the case of Wolverine and Gambit, who was still very interested in their new band. Their nanny, Natalie, was coming as well, but the Lori and Jack were staying to keep the house and keep an eye on the kids who were staying.
“Bye bye!” “Have a good trip!” and “Rock on dudes!” were common calls of good bye as the buses left from their respective houses and went on their way to the first stop of their tour.
“This is great!” Zac exclaimed.
Kelsey looked up and smiled.
“Finally on the road again?”
“Yes! It’s awesome! Yay!”
Kelsey’s smile turned into a grin.
“Just remember to keep doing your exercises,” she warned him teasingly.
Zac pulled a face at her and poked out his tongue at her.
“I can think of some much more interesting uses for that tongue of yours.”
“Mom! Eww!” Kitty objected loudly.
Zac and Kelsey looked at each other, then at their ten-year-old daughter.
“That’s one bad thing about this touring business,” Kelsey sighed. “The lack of privacy.”
“I’ll say!” Kitty agreed vehemently.
Zac laughed.
“And this is only the beginning! Just wait until you’ve been on the road for a few months, then you can start complaining.”
“Oh hell,” Kitty complained. “And you want to do this?”
“Absolutely. It’s fun.”
“Oh yay. So excited.”
Kelsey sighed, looking at Kitty with an amused expression on her face, then turned to Zac.
“Just imagine how much fun Kitty’s going to be when she becomes a teenager?”
Kitty rolled her eyes.
“She is getting in some good practice now, isn’t she?” Zac mused.
Kitty stormed off to her bunk, muttering something about worst ideas ever and how parents shouldn’t be allowed to drag their kids on tour or make fun of them.
