Chapter 22

November 2026

Meanwhile, elsewhere on tour, the Four Amigos were being interviewed:

“Well, it’s been awhile since you guys have been here,” said the interviewer. “What have you been doing?”

“Breeding mostly,” Xavier replied immediately. “Well, ‘cept Adam here.”

The interviewer laughed a little.

“No, Mike and I have been having children,” Sam corrected. “Xavier’s been breeding. I have a beautiful daughter, Heather, and Mike has a son, Brett.”

“And I have twins, Zed and Zirc, and quintuplets, Ivan, Juan, Ian, Drew and Karli,” Xavier nodded.

“Quintuplets? Wow...”

“They’re two in February. Then the real fun begins,” Xavier went on cheerfully.

“Really? I would have thought the fun occurred about nine months before they were born,” Adam piped up.

They all looked at him.

“Oh, did I say that?” Adam asked. “Man, I have so been hanging out with Xavier for far, far too long.”

Xavier cackled evilly.

“So, Adam,” said the interviewer. “I understand you came out of the closet as being gay a few years ago.”

“That’s right.”

“But rumour has it you’ve been dating a woman?”

Adam shrugged.

“Turns out I’m bi.”

“Ahh.”

“And she’s not even butch,” Xavier joked.

“Xavier,” Adam frowned.

Xavier grinned at him.

“Serious?”

“I think that’s between me and my girl.”

“It’s serious,” Mike and Sam said together.

“Guys,” Adam objected.

“Back to breeding for a second,” Xavier went on. “Mike’s wife Verity? Yeah... she’s got a bun in the oven.”

“That’s such a lame saying.”

“But oh so much fun.”

“What about you, Sam? Expecting any more kids yet?”

“No, not yet.”

“Xavier? Dare I ask?”

“Ask again after the quintuplets are potty trained. I have no idea how Mum and Dad managed to raise twenty of us.”

“Auntie Babsie never had five at the same time.”

“Yeah, but she had us all within 13 months of each other.”

“Point taken.”
