“Touring again?” Babsie repeated as Isaac typed away on this computer.
“Yep. We’re going to record a new album first.”
Babsie sat down.
“Are, are you sure about this?”
“Of course,” Isaac frowned then and look up. “Something wrong?”
“I just... it’s so sudden... What about the kids?”
“Half of them are grown up anyway. Xavier’s well and truly old enough to tour with his cousins now. He has his own kids. Rogue and Storm are old enough to tour on their own too, except y’know, they’re busy with Cam and Mac.”
“True enough. But what about Cyke and Lockie -”
“Almost finished school, they’ll be right.”
“Libby and Joy? Wolvie and Gambit? Nigel? Myst? Jubilee? Audrey and Zeke?”
“So some of them will come with and some of them will stay here.”
“Some of them have lives here and we’re just going to run off and leave them?”
“It’s not like we have a shortage of relatives. You can always stay here too if you want.”
“And be separated from you while you tour?”
“Babs... what’s wrong exactly?”
“I don’t know...” Babsie sighed. “It just seems like an awfully big decision to be made on the spot like that.”
“We didn’t exactly date for very long before we got married,” Isaac pointed out.
“That’s not quite the same thing.”
“Look, first we have to actually make the album,” Isaac said. “We have lots of time to sort out the nitty gritty of whose kids come and whose kids stay and where they stay and stuff like that.”
“Says the one who is promoting and hiring new staff to manage the empire,” Babsie said cynically.
“Eh, half of them are already doing the work anyway,” Isaac dismissed. “It’s about time I retired from paper pushing anyway.”
Babsie sighed and nodded slowly.
“I’m think I just going to need some time to rewire my brain. I’ve stayed put for so long...”
Isaac chuckled.
“Some how I doubt you’ll have trouble adapting.”
Babsie gave him a wry smile, then frowned.
“Zac’s already stared designating his lot, huh?”
“What makes you say that?”
“Carmen’s hosting IMHBITD.”
Isaac paused, a smile crossed his face and he shook his head.
“I can’t believe I didn’t even notice,” he chuckled. “I mean, he did need someone to take it on while he’s in hospital but he could have picked just about anyone and he chooses the niece who only co-hosted with him once a few years back.”
Babsie grinned.
