Chapter 6

It was easily morning by the time that the doorbell rang. Diana answered it.

"Can I help you?" she asked the two people standing before her.

"We're friends of Zella ma'am." One of them, the man, said.

"Oh... ok."

Diana let them in, shaking her head to herself. This whole thing with Zac must have really shaken her up if she would let two complete strangers in with no more reference than "we're friends of Zella".

"Rocky, Trinity." Oscar greeted with a yawn.

"Oscar." Rocky - the man - returned. "Have a good watch?"

"You-you could say that."

"Question." Taylor spoke up. "Who are you people?"

"I'm Rocky, she's Trinity." Rocky replied, as if that's all he needed to know.

Trinity hit Rocky over the head.

"You are such a bozo." She told him, then she turned to the crowd of Hansons. "We're friends of Zella, and Oscar here, but I guess you've figured that much out already. We're just going to take over for Oscar. There are also others... you might meet them, you might not. They'll be keeping a look out."

"Is this Goblin person that much trouble?" Walker asked. "Not that I think kidnapping my son is not trouble."

"You'd better believe it."

"Hey, how'd you do that?" Avie exclaimed.

"Do what?" Trinity asked.

Rocky coughed and gestured towards his eyes.

"Oh!" and a grin came across her face. "Part of my mutation. My eyes change colours depending on my mood."

"Light and Empathy?" Isaac asked.

"Umm, yeah, that."

"Are the others really looking out?" Oscar questioned suddenly. "Or are they still watching that vampire?"

"Vampire?" Jess repeated.

Rocky glowered at Oscar.

"We're doing our job Oscar." He replied gruffly. "And I'd thank you to keep your mouth shut."

"It's not like they aren't going to-to find out about other mutants anyway." Oscar answered, waving a hand at him. "I bet you-you any money they'll meet the insect people before the week is up."

"Never bet on a sure thing." Trinity cut in, then she turned to the Hansons. "I think you'll find that a lot of myths and folklore and stuff are actually based on us mutants. The insect people are more commonly called fairies for a start. And there are people who have behaviour patterns that are, well, just like that of your stereotypical vampires."

"So there really are bloodsuckers huh?" Isaac asked.

"And don't you go messing with them." Trinity warned. "And I should point out that not all of them follow the exact same, ahh, code. Some of them don't have fangs, some do. Some are super strong, some aren't. Some really can't go out during the day, others can. And so on and so forth."
