Chapter 8

"That be right, the day you come home it's raining." Taylor said, giving Rachel a hug.

"Hey, there's nothing wrong with rain. I love the rain."

Rachel danced from out of under the roof and onto the driveway.

"Yeah, I know you do baby."

He smiled as she whirled around on the spot, her arms outstretched.

"So, are you just gonna stand there and be a spoil sport?" Rachel laughed.

"Yep!"

"Well, that's no fun. I'm gonna go for a walk in the rain." She paused. "And maybe a little dance as well."

Taylor laughed and closed the distance between them.

"I'm singing in the rain." He sang. "Just singing in the rain. What a glorious feeling, I'm happy again."

Rachel giggled and started whirling around again.

"Whoo hoo! I love that movie!"

Her eyes twinkled in delight and she smiled happily at him.

"Y'know, I have never seen anyone else get so high on rain." Taylor grinned.

Rachel just laughed, and kept on whirling around.

"You'll get dizzy."

"Wanna jump in puddles?"

"Yeah, sure!"

And so the two lunatics started jumping in puddles. Then a car drove past a particularly big one and splashed them both, head to toe, with a mixture of water and mud. They laughed.

"Oh man, I'm a mess." Rachel said. "But hey, then so are you!"

"Ahh, nothing the rain won't wash off." Taylor grinned.

They leant towards each other to indulge in a big smoochy kiss, when something rather hard hit Taylor's shoulder.

"Ow!" he said. 'Oh, hey, it's hailing, we'd better get inside."

"I like hail."

"You would."

"Ouch!" Rachel yelped as a piece of hail hit her too. "But hey, when you're right you're right."

Taylor laughed and two very wet and muddy teenagers headed inside.
