Chapter 2

Isaac started shifted back to his human self. By this time Mackie had definitely noticed, and the poor kid was nearing bed-wetting.

"Hey, hey Mack, it's me. Ike."

Mackie burst into tears and wrapped his arms around his older brother.

"What's happened?" he asked.

Mackie was too upset to reply. However, Telepaths who have not been triggered have a tendency to broadcast their thoughts. Although it's something Isaac preferred not to do, he dropped his block and dug out what had happened from Mackie's mind.

*What the heck is Zac doing then?* Taylor asked.

*Don't you get it Tay? He's trying to suck out all the electricity she absorbed. Golly, it must have been a lot.*

*He looks tired.*

"Don't worry Mackie, everything's going to be ok. Come with me."

Isaac picked him up and headed back to the door. He noted the progress Zac had made and used his Telekinesis to finish the job. That done, he also unlocked the door, and pulled it right out of it frame.

Mackie watched his in awe.

"How'd you do that?"

"Tell you later."

"Is it like the magic show?"

"Yep. Be quiet now."

Mackie nodded.

Stealthily, Isaac walked down the hall slipped out the door. He practically ran to where Taylor was.

"Tay!" Mackie cried.

"Shh." Taylor urged him.

"I'm gonna go back in." Isaac said.

"Hurry."

Isaac reverted back to liquid again, and made his way back to the basement.

The sparks were still flying around Zac and Zoe, and Zac was exhausted already. But he needed to… he needed to… he needed to finish…

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Isaac going back to human. Isaac just crouched by Zac, watching with concerned eyes.

Somehow, this seemed to give Zac the strength he needed.
