Prologue

Due to alien interference and multiple timelines, Isaac, Taylor and Zac discover that they have powers. Aside from the aliens themselves, Zac is the only one who remembers how the initial discovery came to pass, and has promised never to reveal this knowledge to anyone else.

What they do know about their powers is that they are caused by a relatively rare, anomalous gene. Someone with this gene can be either a Level 1, 2, or 3 anomaly. Level 3 anomalies can go through their entire lives and never be affected by the gene.

Level 2 anomalies can subconsciously use their powers throughout their lives. They have no control over this power at all. However, it is possible for a Level 2 to become a Level 1.

Level 1 anomalies know they have their powers and so can control them.

Since the triggering of their own powers, they have also triggered the powers of their siblings, Taylor’s ex-girlfriend Rachel, and two brothers from Boston named James and Blake. They have met up with a girl from Australia named Jo, who’s powers were already triggered, as well as a magic troupe from England called The Mystics, made up of Doug Connory and his two kids, Nate and Carla, who is currently dating Isaac.

They have discovered the existence of mutants, whose anomalous gene has mutated instead of being triggered. Among these are Z, Trinity, Rocky, Oscar, Angela, Ripples and Twinkles. They have also unwittingly made enemies among the mutants, such as Gretel (also known as The Goblin), and two of her henchmen, Doran and Mayne, and the pack of werewolf assassins, led by Bloodlust.

On top of this, Rachel’s brother Daniel has been identified as an anomaly as well. Because Zac triggered him when his gene was in the first stages of mutating, he has suffered a few side effects.
