Gordon was not stupid. She was about to cry for help. He knew it! He lunged for her, hands to her shoulders. Her head banged harshly against the wall and she suddenly turned rubber. Gordon was unable to grab her again as she kept slipping out of his grip.
Floundering, Rachel grabbed the door handle and walked outside as fast as she could, Gordon hot on her heels. The second she stepped foot onto deck, thunder clapped fiercely and lighting hit the ship. Well, the ship was the highest point on the ocean!
Rachel collapsed. Storm clouds brewed up faster than anyone could comprehend and rain poured down. Two more strikes of lighting. There was running and screaming and in the confusion Gordon dumped Rachel overboard.
“Oh no!” Isaac yelled. “Rachel! Carla! Rach’s gone overboard.”
There was a scream and Zac cried out Mary Anne’s name.
“Zac! Don’t!” Carla yelled as he dived overboard.
“He’ll be okay,” Isaac assured her. “He’s got Water remember?”
There was no more time to talk as a waved washed across the deck and pushed them all over the edge. Hitting the ocean, Isaac gasped desperately for breath than shape shifted into a lifeboat. He looked urgently around for his friends and brothers. He found Carla first, and then Taylor/Gordon.
“Isaac!” Zac yelled. “Rachel!”
Zac pushed Rachel over to Isaac, who shape shifted a couple of arms to pull her into the boat. Which was pretty hard considering she was still rubber.
“I have to find Mary Anne,” Zac shouted. “Be right back!”
Zac swam back into the violent waters with a grace and sleekness that seemed so out of place in the raging chaos.
“Hey, isn’t that Jo?” Carla asked suddenly, pointing.
Isaac looked. There, floating on her back, was Jo.
“Jo!” Isaac yelled.
Okay, so it was a lifeboat with a figurehead. And force fields to keep with wind and rain and waves out. Talk about high-tech!
“Hey guys, lovely day for a swim huh?” she grinned, waving.
“At least someone’s having a good time,” Carla muttered.
“A little thunderstorm just isn’t enough to hurt me.”
“Nothing is enough to hurt you,” Isaac commented, helping her aboard.
“Just because I’m invulnerable physically, doesn’t mean I’m invulnerable mentally. Hey, what happened to Rachel?”
“I don’t know,” Carla answered, and Isaac shook his head.
“Hmm, Rach?” Jo waved her hand in Rachel’s face then tounched her forehead. “She’s gone rubber and she’s uncon- oh man... her third power... that’s Weather isn’t it?”
“Yeah...” Isaac replied slowly.
“Isaac, has her telepathy gone a bit crazy?”
“Umm, I don’t know. Taylor would be the one to ask.”
“Yeah, but look at him,” Carla said. “The guy is in shock.”
