Chapter 8

Once Zac had gotten over his giggles, they started playing.

"Oh man!" Taylor complained.

"Ha ha." Zac replied. "Hey!"

Isaac grinned and aimed the ball at the hoop.

~FLASH~

"He shoots... he scores!" Isaac exulted.

Zac wiped his sweaty brow with his sleave.

"Oh gee man, what are you? Telekinetic or something?" Zac joked.

"Yeah Zac, that's exactly it. I'm practicing for my audition to join the X-men."

Zac laughed.

"Ok, now prepare for your butt to be kicked dude. I'm gonna beat you at this game yet!"

~FLASH~

"He shoots... he scores!" Isaac exulted.

"De ja vu." Zac commented under his breath.

Then aloud he continued:

"Oh gee man, what are you? Telekinetic or something?"

"Yeah Zac, that's exactly it. I'm practicing for my audition to join the X-men."

Zac and Taylor laughed.

"De ja vu again." Zac murmured. "Except, Tay wasn't there before."

"Did you say something Zac?" Taylor asked.

"Umm, nope."

"So if Tay wasn't there, where was - oh that's right, he was with Amarita... Wait, Telekinesis?" Zac thought to himself.

For the rest of the game, Zac found himself studying Isaac carefully, wondering if he could possibly have telekinesis after all. Before, when they played basketball, he'd usually won, and they'd always put it down to the fact they he was taller. But now they were around the same height...

"Well, well, looks like Ike might be joining the X-men after all."

After the game, Zac spent sometime contemplating whether or not he should try to trigger Isaacs' powers or not, after all, Dustin said he had thought Isaac was the strongest. It would be a shame to waste that... wouldn't it?
