Chapter 16

"Argh, this is so annoying!" Taylor complained. "You guys have three powers each to learn to control, and I only have one."

"There, you see, less work for you." Isaac replied. "Well, either that or less play."

Taylor glared at him.

"You have no idea... you know, once I found out about this Attraction thing - which I wouldn't have if Zac hadn't told me - I wished I could turn it off."

"Oh, c'mon Tay. You like having all those girls gush about you." Zac said.

"It's not the girls I'm worried about."

This comment took a moment to sink in.

"Eww." Zac and Isaac chorused.

"But think Tay, the Empathy made you an excellent judge of character. You know we've been wondering for ages how you could do it, and how you could tell whenever someone in our family was pregnant, even before they announced it." Isaac pointed out.

"But I can't control it! That's the point. And it's really annoying. I do not like walking around at the mall and knowing exactly what everyone is feeling. It's like wading through a swamp of emotion."

"Hang on Tay, was it like this before you knew?"

"Huh?"

"Ok, before Zac triggered your powers, was going through the mall like wading through a swamp of emotion?"

"No... at least, I don't think so..."

"Then there must be a way for you to control it, and you were doing it unconsciously all this time and didn't know it. Now all you have to do is teach yourself how to do it."

"How?"

"Focus on the solution, not the problem." Zac informed him with a groan. "We've always said that."

"Yeah, well, easier said than done."

"Tay, quit - hey, Ike, what are you doing?"

Isaac was shape shifting again.

"Oh my gosh!" Taylor exclaimed with a laugh. "He's turning into a guitar!"

"It's a Gibson... and look, it's even got his signature on it." Zac chuckled. "Ike you're obsessed!"
