Isaac raised an eyebrow.
"Seriously! I was just experimenting, I didn't mean to read Rach's mail, I just, y'know... it just happened."
"Umm, riiiight."
"You don't believe me."
"I hardly think it takes being an empath to figure that out."
Taylor stuck his tongue out at him.
"It's true. Look, I'll prove it."
"Oh? How?"
"Umm," Taylor thought for a moment, then headed to the balcony. "Ok, see those cars out there?"
"Yeah."
"Pick one, any one, and I'll tell you what the number plate is. Then we can go down and check."
Isaac gave Taylor a good long look, then said:
"Ok, that one." He pointed.
"The blue one?"
"No, the red one."
"The one next to the green van?"
"No it's - oh for goodness sake, I'll show you telepathically."
Isaac was about to send an image, when a thought occurred to him.
"Wait a second, you're not going to magnify the image I send you and find out the number plate that way are you?"
Taylor gave him a long look.
"Ike, it doesn't work that way. If you can't make out the number plate from here, I won't be able to see it from an image you send me."
"Well, ok." Isaac said, sending the image.
"Ok... oh, that car. Number plate is..."
Taylor sent one of his probes to the car and took a look at the number plate. Once knowing what it was, he told Isaac and then they headed down to the car park.
"You're right." Isaac said, in amazement. "You really can... Tay, you scare me sometimes."
Taylor laughed.
"Why tha- uhh, Ike? I think we'd better get out of here."
"Why's that?"
"Score of fans headed this way."
"Where? I can't see them."
"Ike, who do you trust? Your own senses or the guy who can read number plates from a room on the twenty-second floor of a hotel?"
"Taylor, I love you as a brother, but I always - oh damn." He said as he spotted a few heads bobbing in their direction.
A few cries of "Isaac!" and "Tay!" weren't very reassuring either.
"Told you."
"We're not going to get up there in time. We have to hide." An idea crossed Isaac's mind. "Quick, we have to find an empty parking spot."
A few moments later Taylor was carefully hidden in the boot of the 'Isaac-mobile'.
