Chapter 14

The driver of the car that Taylor, uhh, hijacked, pulled into a petrol station.

"I'm going to get some junk food." The woman told him.

"Whatever."

"You want anything?"

"Uhh, chips and a coke."

"Ok."

Taylor saw his chance. He went into her head again and got her to pick up the rock and then place it just under a bin where it would be hidden. He then wiped her memory of the incident and let it go at that.

Taylor decided that his would be his base of operation, at least for a while.

There was definitely a good side and a bad side to being here. Firstly, Taylor could not put up a block to stop from reading people's thoughts. And there were quite a good amount of people within his range.

On the other hand, by being able to read everyone's thoughts, Taylor was able to figure out who was going where, and more importantly, who was a Hanson fan or at least had some idea of where his family and his body was currently located.

Of course, the bad side was that most people had no idea.

In fact, the vast majority of people had no idea.

This whole matter was extremely frustrating - as if it wasn't enough frustrating already.

*Ahh waiting, waiting, waiting." He murmured. *Again.*

And so Taylor, once again, found himself waiting. Of course, this time instead of being entertained by his own thoughts, he got to be entertained by everyone else's thoughts. It was rather overwhelming considering the number of people going in and out, in and out.

So what with that and the waiting, you can understand that Taylor was rather ticked off.

Very ticked off.

And even in the quiet moments within that 5 kilometre radius, there was still too many people. Be realistic, who really wants to know about the daydreams of some chick behind the counter involving...

As a result Taylor ended up teaching himself to tune in and out people's thoughts without using a block. An interesting phenomena it was, Taylor soon realised, to hear people's thoughts and yet not hear them.

Fortunately, being night there were quiet a few people who were asleep and Taylor could only read the thoughts of people who were awake.

*Gee, I'm really glad I don't have Dreams like Jess.* He murmured. *I'd probably be seeing what they were dreaming them as well, seeing as I can't block thoughts now.*

He floated around a bit.

*I wonder which would be worse? To hear people's thoughts or see people's dreams?*
