Chapter 13

“Ok, bye.” Isaac said, hanging up the phone.

“Who was that?” Zac asked.

“Wayne?”

“Really? And you didn’t let me talk to him?”

“Nope.”

“Well, that was really nice of you.”

Isaac grinned.

“I would have, but he had to go. Blame Aunt Sandy, not me.”

“But that take all the fun out of – hey, when did they move Taylor in here?”

“Just before lunch.”

“Oh. So, what’s new with Wayney-boy?”

“Oh, half the conversation was about some hot chick that came to visit her father in the house next door.”

“Typical.”

“He was really obsessing over the fact that she might be moving in.”

“Aww. Does she have a name?”

“Umm... I think he called her Ama.”

Zac’s jaw dropped.

“What?” he asked in a small whisper.

“Ama. Why Zac? You look like you’ve see a ghost.”

“Ike, umm, you remember I told you about how this alien chick screwed up the time line?”

“Yeah...”

“Do you also remember me mentioning that her name was Amarita?”

Isaac let out a small whistle.

“And she lived next door to Wayne too.” Zac frowned. “But for some reason she hadn’t turned up in Tulsa until now. I wonder why that is? But anyway, I think we should warn Wayne that he -”

“That he what Zac? That he might be getting involved with an alien?”

“Ike...” Zac complained.

“C’mon Zac. First of all, he wouldn’t believe us. Second of all, didn’t you say that she was going to be made completely human with no memory of what happened or something?”

Zac nodded slowly.

“Well, yeah. But... I remember what happened Ike! You can’t blame me for being worried. By the way, I know this is a total change of subject, but where’s Cuddles?”

Isaac was quiet for a moment and stared into Zacs’ eyes.

“Oh damn! I haven’t seen him since the accident. I hope he’s ok.”

“I’m sure he’ll find his way back to you – or rather, to your nose.” Zac grinned cheekily.
