Needlessly to say, Taylor was getting very, very frustrated. Still, the last time had given him an idea, but they were out of range before he could implement it.
It was now about the middle of the night.
*I wonder why I’m not tired?*
He thought about this and came to the conclusion that is was because he didn’t have a body anymore. Well, not a human body, if you figured that this weird rock had somehow become a new body.
A little way past his range, but where it was still within seeing range, Taylor could see some fireflies. Or rather what he guessed were fireflies - they appeared to be a bit bigger than the last time he remembered seeing them.
*It’s probably because I’m just a probe with a mind in it now.*
Taylor was not at all happy with the situation. Not many people would be.
*What about me, it isn’t fair,* he sang telepathically (not that there was anyone around to sing telepathically to!) *I’ve had enough not I want may shar-*
He interrupted himself when something other than bigger fireflies caught his attention. It was a car! And more importantly, a person in the car! Actually, there were a couple of people, but Taylor only needed one – the driver.
Taylor jumped (figuratively speaking) into the driver’s brain, and then went about taking over his body. Normally Taylor wouldn’t even contemplate taking over the body of another person, but he considered his am emergency.
Yes, taking over someone else’s body.
“What are you pulling over for?” the woman in the passenger seat demanded.
This being the first time he’d ever actually tried to control someone else’s body, Taylor wasn’t really acquainted with how to talk, so he didn’t bother replying. He just got the driver to get out, picked up the rock and put it under the seat.
“What’s with the rock?” she asked.
Again, no reply. Taylor quickly had the driver start driving off again and blocked his memory of ever having pulled over, and did the same to the woman.
There was silence for a moment.
“Umm... what were we talking about?”
Taylor would have smiled, if he had a mouth.
Ahh, at long last he was on his way. He would have to stay alert of course, besides, he wanted to be able to figure out which hospital his family (and his body) would have been taken.
Taylor imagined that with all the press and fans there wouldn’t be too much of a problem in managing that! For once he was actually glad of their... prying.
And he meant that in the nicest possible way of course!
