"I swear, I heard Rach too this time."
Isaac thought about this for a moment.
"Ok, ok, So, I've heard you in my head like three times. And I've heard Zoe and Mackie twice. And you've heard me three times and Mackie and Zoe once. And now you think you've heard Rach as well?"
"Yes."
"That doesn't… why?"
They both thought about this.
"Well… The first time and third time, we were at the skate park. And Mackie, Zoe and Rach weren't there." Taylor said slowly.
"And the second time… we were both in the house, and so was Mackie and Zoe…" Isaac continued.
"But the last time, I was with Rach at the mall, and you were home…"
"Babysitting. And I heard Mackie and Zoe, and you heard Rach, but we didn't hear each other…"
"Must have something to do with how far away we are."
"Rach lives close by, so it mustn't be a very big distance."
"Yeah." Taylor agreed. "Wow, this is so weird. I wonder what is happening?"
"Maybe it's just a weird dream. Maybe one of us is in a coma or something."
"Some coma."
Isaac gave him a wry smile.
"Ike, when you… when you… umm, melt… well, what's it like?"
"Well, it's, it's weird. Like I can, like it's supposed to be normal? And yet… it's like, like… it's amazing y'know? And scary. And I can't help but feel there's something more to it, something else…" he shook his head. "And you Tay? You told me about feeling people's emotions."
"Oh yeah man. It is so… overwhelming. Man, I must have looked really weird in the mall - there were just so many emotions. Like a huge flood man. I had to run into the bathroom and I just wanted to scream."
"Wow… do, do you think there's something wrong with us? This is definitely not normal."
"I, I don't know man. Do you think it's only us? I mean, maybe it's happening to other people too and they're, well, scared of admitting it like us."
"Maybe."
"Do, do you think it's happening to Zoe and Mackie and Rachel? Can…"
"Can they hear us? I don't know. But if they can't they're gonna think we're so weird if we ask."
"So, so what do we do Ike?"
"I don't know Taylor. I just don't know."
