Chapter 14

"So, what powers do we have Zac?" Taylor asked finally.

Zac let out a sigh.

"Well, like I said, I have a restoration power, an affinity with electricity and an affinity with water."

"Ah ha!" Isaac exclaimed. "The extension cord in the bathroom!"

Taylor looked puzzled and Zac gave Isaac a rueful grin.

"Umm, yeah. Sorry. I ought to be a bit more careful, I know. But it's so cool having so many watts of electricity running through the water." He paused. "Deadly to most people, but fun to me."

"I don't think I wanna know." Taylor said. "So, what about our powers?"

"Oh, yeah, right. Ok, well, Ike, you have telekinesis, telepathy and you're a shape shifter."

"Cool!"

"Yeah, so that's why you were going liquid, the shape shifting part."

"What about the force fields?"

"Force fields?" Zac repeated.

"Yeah, some morons were throwing rocks at us at the skate park." Taylor explained. "I swear, Ike had a force field or something."

"Well, it's possible. It's hard to identify powers y'know. It's likely that we all have powers that have been unidentified. Anyway, Taylor, you have telepathy as well, empathy and an attraction power."

"Attraction?" Taylor repeated.

"Yep. Or that's what Dustin says. He reckons that's why all the girls love you and stuff."

"Ah ha! Your secret's out Taylor!" Isaac chuckled.

"You're just jealous." Taylor grinned, poking out his tongue at him.

"Anyway, the empathy thing is why you feel everyone's emotions and stuff. And until you master it, don't go into public places. You, ahh, that is, Taylor in the second time line said it was really overwhelming."

Taylor nodded knowingly.

"Any advice for me?" Isaac asked.

"Yep. Don't pretend to be the kitchen floor. Last time you did that someone spilt coffee on you, and you kept complaining that it really hurt."

"Ok."

"Hey Zac, how do we master our powers?" Taylor asked.

"Oh, hello duh!" Zac said. "Silly me. Before you can do that, I better fully trigger them. Oh, by the way, once I do, you might want to concentrate on closing your minds. Otherwise you're gonna be flooded with images from each other, Mackie and Zoe."

He stood up.

"Ok, don't worry, this won't hurt a bit." He paused teasingly. "At least I don't think it will."

Before his brothers had a chance to reply, Zac let out two bolts of volts, one to each of them. They each sat on the seats, a little shocked for a moment (pun intended), but quickly recovered.

"The reason why you can hear Mackie and Zoe in your heads is because our younger sibs are anomalies too." Zac continued. "We think that Mackie and Zoe must have telepathy too, but we've never triggered them."

"And Rachel." Taylor said quietly. "Zac, I've heard Rach in my head. Twice now. She must be one of us too."
