"Mutant Intelligence Agency," she replied simply.
"And what exactly do you people do anyway?"
"We try and locate people who are mutating," Trinity answered for her. "We try and keep the peace - including dealing with criminals. And we cover up any chance of exposure. So, basically, if you guys manage to get caught on tape or something using your powers, we destroy the evidence. Unless it's live of course. That's a little hard."
"Why would Bloodlust think we're MIA?" asked Isaac.
"We have people all over the place. Why not musicians?"
"Ok, better question, how did he know we had anything to do with Angela in the first place?"
Trinity shrugged.
"Maybe he - or someone he knows - saw Angela hanging out with you. Who knows?"
"Ok, what about this one," Taylor said. "On the bus, Mackie teleports a knife into my hand to defend myself from Bloodlust with. Yet you fought him with a dagger. Were you actually able to hurt him with it? I know he can move through solids."
Trinity grinned.
"I know that too. And, yes I was able to hurt him. I can't use my light power as well as Avie can use hers, I can't shoot them through the air, but I can create them around things - like blades. It wasn't the dagger doing the damage - it was the laser."
"Ahh."
"We'd better get home," Jess spoke up. "Mom and Dad will probably be worried about me."
"I'll see if Mackie or Zoe are still up," Taylor said. "If one of them are, I'll get them to tell them that you're fine, with us, and we're coming home."
"How did Bloodlust get hold of you anyway?" Zac asked his sister.
"I stepped out to get a drink from the vending machine in the hallway. One of his posse jumped me. Well... not literally, but close enough anyway."
Neither sibling was still awake. Walker and Diana were worried about Jess when they had realised that she was missing. Fortunately, Jess hadn't been gone long enough for them to alert the hotel staff just yet. They were quick to explain what had happened.
"It was really weird when I was there though," Jess commented. "All the different mutants! I mean, most of them looked human, but some of them..."
"Yeah," Zac agreed. "There was everything. Wings, tails, shells, you name it, we saw it."
"Oh man, there was this guy - the guy who won - oh, he was huge!" Isaac said.
"And hairy," Taylor added. "I'm thinking bear."
"And there was that woman who had Dalmatian spots. I'm serious!" Zac said vehemently, seeing the expressions on their parent's faces. "She had Dalmatian skin! But it wasn't fur, it was just white skin with black spots! It was freaky!"
"And," Jess added, "I'm sure I saw the Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles!"
