Chapter 5

It was night when a particular car pulled into the petrol station and the driver immediately caught Taylor's attention for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, she was a Hanson fan. Secondly, she was on her way to the hospital with a group of friends who were also Hanson fans.

As discreetly as he could, on her way back from paying, Taylor ducked into her mind and got her to pick up the rock from underneath the bin. Fortunately none of her friends noticed her put the rock under the seat as they were either asleep or just not paying attention.

Like before, he blocked her memory of the incident.

Minutes later they were on their way. Taylor sensed some irony in this. Here he was, Taylor Hanson, effectively hijacking a vehicle full of Hanson fans, when - if he actually had his body - he could have just asked for a lift.

**********

The sun came up and the current driver switched places with one of her friends. Another one of the girls had woken up. She stretched her arms a little.

"Hey, morning Amy." The driver said.

"Hi Suzie." Amy yawned. "Is there much further to go?"

"We've got a few hours yet."

"Oh."

Amy started rummaging in a bag by her feet and pulled out a CD player and earphones. She set herself up and stuck a CD in it. Taylor didn't recognise the CD, so he popped into her head to find out what she was listening to.

*Heart's Greatest Hits?* he asked himself. *Oooook.*

Nonetheless, he hung around in her head. He didn't much listen to Heart but it was a nice change. Besides, always good to listen to something new.

*Ah ha! So they're the ones who sing that!* he snickered.

The track now playing was "All I wanna do is make love to you". Taylor found this rather amusing for some reason.

*Ok, I think I might just dob someone in - like Zac - to do this for karaoke sometime.* he decided gleefully. *And all I can say is I'm going to make sure there's a video camera around recording him at the time.*

He was still in there a few tracks later when another song started playing. At first he paid about as much attention to that as he did most the other songs, but then it came to the chorus.

Have you ever listened to a song that seems to say exactly how you feel? Taylor would wager that most people would at least find one song they could relate to and that's exactly how he felt about this one.

It seemed that Amy loved this song too, because - to Taylor's delight - she put it on repeat for a little while before going on to listen to the next tracks.

It said exactly how he felt about his break up with Rachel and, instead of the song that Taylor had suddenly been inspired with not so long before, he now found himself singing this new song over and over.

Needlessly to say, it was obvious what CD he would be buying next!
