“Please don’t kill her,” Angela begged. “Please don’t.”
And it was at that moment that her wings had another growth spurt. Crying out at her own pain, she pulled frantically at her shirt and at the bandage. She had little trouble with the bandage as the spurt seemed to send her wings cutting through the cloth. She curled up on the floor, arching her back, her hands wrapped around the back of her neck.
How much Angela wished Jess had been there like she had been last time and numbed the pain.
It was about this moment that Bloodlust noticed and he changed back to his human self and knelt beside her.
“Angie?” he asked softly.
“Get away from me!” Angela sobbed hysterically. “Get away! You’re not my father! You’re not my father!”
And to his utter astonishment, Angela vanished. But he knew she was still there because he could hear her sobs of pain from the growing wings, and smell her scent with his wolfish senses.
Bloodlust turned back to Trinity, lying there on the floor. He kicked her harshly.
“Angie?”
There was no answer.

Rocky took up the story from here.
“We’ve been keeping an eye on the place. We saw Bloodlust leave, and not Trinity or Angela. So we moved in. We couldn’t find Angela anywhere and I took Trinity here, after calling to see where Jess was.”
Rocky looked at Trinity fondly, another expression that didn’t seem to belong on his face.
“She was lucky to be alive.”
“Hang on,” Taylor said. “I thought werewolves only changed at night.”
“Bloodlust is one of the few werewolves who can change at will,” Rocky replied. “But he’s never completely human, nor completely wolf. Let’s see, I think his front paws and his back legs as a wolf don’t form completely, so he’s capable of holding things and standing on his hind legs.”
“And he’s a very hairy man,” Trinity added. “And his teeth are unusually sharp for a human.”
“Really?” Rocky asked.
“Yes, I just noticed that today. Makes me wonder if he ever eats plants. Eating a lot of red meat – that could explain a few things.”
Isaac started laughing. They stared.
“It’s just... it’s just... you’re talking about what influences the behaviour of a werewolf!” he snickered. “I mean, hey if I didn’t know my life was weird before, I sure do now!”
“So, where is Angela?” Zac asked.
There was quiet and Isaac sobered.
“I don’t know. One moment she was there, the next she wasn’t. Invisibility I guess, but that doesn’t tell us where she is,” Trinity replied.
