Chapter 12

“Moving?” Angela and Trinity repeated.

“Yes,” Angela’s dad replied, putting his arm around his daughter.

“Why?” Angela asked.

“Work, honey, work.”

“Where are you moving to?” Trinity asked.

He regarded her a moment, then a confused look crossed his face. Trinity noticed an uncomfortable look on Angela’s face.

“Is something wrong with your back Angie?” he asked.

“N-no.”

Not entirely convinced, he pulled the back of her shirt out a bit and looked down.

“What the... you have a bandage...” his eyes widened. “Wings! Wings! Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I -”

He suddenly glared at Trinity.

“Who are you?” he demanded.

“I told you. Katie’s Mom.”

His eyes seemed to flame. He closed the distance between them and whipped off Trinity’s sunglasses. Her iris’s were gray. Fortunately this was a normal enough colour, and he glowered into them for a moment.

“What were you expecting to see?” she asked, a lot more calmly than she felt.

Trinity hoped that her eyes wouldn’t change.

Then suddenly, he put his hand to her throat.

“You’re one of them,” he accused.

“One of who?”

“The MIA! You’re MIA!”

“No, I’m Bree, not Mya,” Trinity replied, a confused expression on her face.

“Daddy?” Angela asked.

“You’re an agent,” her father growled, ignoring Angela. “And you’re trying to take my daughter from me! Well, I’m telling you right now, MIA is soon going to have one last agent.”

As if to prove his accusations, Trinity’s eyes changed to a gleaming yellow. The smug look on his face told Trinity what had happened and she allowed a smile to grow on her face.

“Bloodlust, I assume. We’ve been looking for you.”

“I know!” Bloodlust bellowed. “You [insert something incredibly rude and unrepeatable here] have been crawling all over the place!”

“So you decided to skip town. We’re going to find you Bloodlust. No matter where you go,” she gazed directly into his eyes and lowered her voice. “How does it feel to be the prey for once?”

“Daddy?” Angela gaped fearfully, as her father started changing... into a wolf.

Angela couldn’t bear to watch as he attacked Trinity relentlessly. Tearing into her flesh with his shape claws. Snarling and growling. Trinity fought back as best she could, having pulled a dagger from her boot, the dagger now glowing with a yellow light.

“Daddy! Daddy stop!” Angela sobbed.
