Chapter 17

At around the same time, Isaac and Taylor sneaked out of the house. Well, sort of. See, the beauty of having a brother who's a Shape Shifter means that all you have to do is open the window and ask him to turn into a ladder so you can get out of your bedroom on the second floor.

The other good thing about it is when you need a car…

*Hey dude, I like the interior. Very comfy.*

*Really? Thanks. I try.*

And so the two were off. Once they had left the street, Isaac even started making engine noise. Taylor couldn't help laughing (it was a good thing he was only pretending to drive).

And so the searching began.

*Anything?* Isaac asked after a while.

*Nope.*

They kept on driving.

*Anything?*

*Nada.*

And still the kept going.

*Anything?*

*Ike, you're beginning to remind me of kids on long trips who keep saying "are we there yet?". I'll let you know when I've found them!*

*Sorry.*

Ten minutes later:

*Anything?*

*Ike!*

*Sorry.*

Five minutes later:

*You sure?*

*Yes.*

*You found them!*

*No, I'm sure that I haven't found them yet. Will you quit asking me so I can concentrate?*

*Sorry. I'll shut up now.*

*Thank you.*

Two very tired and dejected young men returned home that night.
