"Well, that was dumb." Zac commented. "Doesn't it know we can just fly away?"
"Umm Zac?" Isaac said. "No we can't. There's a force field."
He tapped the air, and they could see it then.
"Great." Zac muttered. "So, now what?"
"Now, I take a peek at what's inside." Rogue replied.
She walked over to the sleeping Dragon and pulled off one of her gloves. She pressed her bare hand against it's skin for a moment. Then, before their very eyes, Rogue started transforming. She, too, started becoming a Dragon.
"Oh that's right. She sucks out the life force and memories and stuff out of anyone she touches huh?" Taylor said.
"But only temporarily." Archangel pointed out. "Well, except for when she touched Ms Marvel. That's why she's so strong, can fly, is invulnerable and has a 'seventh sense' that allows her to anticipate the moves of any opponent."
"Really? I never knew about the seventh sense thing before." Zac said. "Hmm, that could be useful."
"Didn't she anticipate that the Dragon would catch us?" Isaac asked.
Archangel just shrugged.
Rogue, who was now a Dragon as well, was changing again. This time, into a vampire. And it must be said that Rogue as a vampire was not a pretty sight.
"The Essence has been using some sort of dampening field, preventing the use of my seventh sense." Rogue said. "It's very unnerving."
She paused.
"It seems Dragon-boy here is the leader of our dear little clan of vamps. And guess what?"
"What?" Isaac asked.
"Ezara's being kept in this very cave. Under the Essence's instructions - who just so happens to be this guys' uncle - to keep guard over her."
"The Essence has a nephew?" Zac asked. "Ook. So, why'd he bring us here?"
Rogue shrugged.
"The Essence told him too."
"Essence!" screeched a voice behind them. "Where? Where! Must destroy!"
They turned around.
