The cats (of which there were five) helped destroy the remaining fears. Finally they were standing in silence.
"What's going on?" Kristin asked fearfully.
"Don't you worrry my dearrr." Purred one of the cats. "It'll all be over soon."
The cat tossed something over her.
"What will all be over?" she asked, suddenly getting sleepy.
But the reply she wouldn't hear as she quickly fell asleep.
"Quickly." Said another cat. "We must rrregrrroup. This way, we have a home base where the Essense can't hurt us."
"What about Kristin and Taylor?" Isaac demanded.
"They come with us of courrrse." The cat replied. "We can help Taylorrr, but only at the base."
Wolverine and the Phantom (being the stronger of those amongst them) picked up the two and they all followed the cats.
The problem with following cats is that it's so easy to get behind. After all, most people are terribly clumsy compared to their gracefulness and swiftness.
They could tell that the Essence was beginning to win this battle. The night was settling, and there was a creepy full moon. Wolves howls echoed everywhere. But despite the evil atmosphere that seemed to settle around them, there was no cloud in the sky. The one glimpse of hope - the stars - they still shone will all their glory. Bright and beautiful.
Finally they arrived at the 'base'. It was actually a house, but nothing the guys had ever seen there before. It was brightly illuminated.
"Ahh yes." Said the cat. "Here it is. The Essense will know we're here - after all, who can miss it? But it'll never be able to come anywhere close enough to hurt us."
Taylor and Kristin were laid down in beds. Then the cat who had thrown the stuff over Kristin made everyone leave the room while she prepared the mixture to save Taylor. It didn't take too long and once she had dripped it into his mouth, she too, left the room.
