"What are you doing?" he asked.
"I'm yawning."
"Oh. Why?"
"Because I'm tired."
"Oh."
"Maybe we should stop to sleep."
"Ok."
"Are you going to sleep too?"
"I don't need sleep."
"No, I guess you wouldn't, being made out of straw."
"Yeah."
On that note, they found a place for Daria to sleep and Taylor stayed up all night, keeping an eye on her.
The next morning, Daria woke up and mumbled something about want breakfast. She had her food from the basket, but there wasn't any water.
"Hmm. Well, I guess we'd better go look for some." Taylor suggested.
"Good idea." Daria agreed.
And so the two started look around their surroundings for a source of water.
But water was not what they found first.
"Why... it's a man!" Daria gasped. "Made out of tin!"
"Well! How do you suppose..."
"Shh!"
Taylor glanced at her, and then noticed it... a moaning noise coming from the tin man.
"I think he's trying to tell us something." Taylor said.
"Yes but what?" Daria asked.
They stood there listening for a moment.
"Oil can!" Taylor burst out.
Daria then noticed the oil can sitting on a nearby stump.
"Oh, his joints must be rusty." Daria said.
On that, Daria started oiling the tin mans joints until finally, after working them for a bit, the tin man was able to move.
"Oh thank you, thank you!" the tin man said. "You don't know how much a relief it is to be able to move again after being stuck there for so long."
"Oh, you're very welcome." Daria said. "I'm Daria, and this is Taylor and my dog Toby."
"I'm Isaac."
"What happen to make you so rusty?"
"Well, see, there was a girl I fell in love with. But her father didn't approve of me and asked a witch to cast a spell on me." Isaac said. "And the witch enchanted my axe so that it would cut off my limbs. Well, each time a part of me was cut off I went to the tin smith and he made me a new one out of tin. Anyway, eventually I was all made of tin, but I had a problem with water. Because water would rust my joints you see. And one day I was out here chopping wood like I always do, and it started to rain. I couldn't get to shelter in time."
"Oh, well, you're perfect now." Said Daria.
"No, not quite." Isaac replied woefully. "See, when the tin smith made me my torso, he forgot to give me a heart."
"Oh! Well, we're going to see the Wizard of Oz so that I can get home to Kansas and so that Taylor can get a brain. Maybe he can get you a heart."
"You think so?"
"Sure. And even if he can, why you'll be no worse off than you are now."
"True. Ok, lets go."
And so Daria, Toby, Taylor and Isaac continued down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City.
