"Go find another way." Another voice replied.
"We can't."
"Too bad."
"Come on." Taylor said. "They can't stop us."
On that, Taylor started climbing up. Suddenly something hit him, flinging him back down.
It was the strangest person they had ever seen. Two legs, a body, yes, but no arms and a head twice the normal size. And there were more of them.
Seeing them, they knew that any further attempts to cross would be futile.
"The winged monkeys!" Taylor suddenly said.
Daria's eyes lit up and she called the monkeys.
"This is your third and final wish." Said the leader.
"We want you to take up to Gretchen, the Good Witch of the South."
He nodded and soon he and his companions had picked them up and were carrying them over the hill, much to the anguish of the Hammerheads.
The monkeys set them down outside a great palace, bid them farewell and left. There were three girls in red uniforms at the gates.
"What can we do for you?" asked one.
"We would like to see Gretchen, please." Daria replied. "I'm Daria, and these are Taylor, Isaac and Zac."
One left, a few minutes she returned to say that Gretchen would see them, and she led them to the throne room.
"Hello Daria, we meet again." She said. "What has happened since we last met?"
Daria told her of all that had occurred.
"I can help you." Gretchen said. "But I would like the Golden Visor in return."
"Certainly. It's of no use to me - I've used it up the three times."
"Which is just how many times I will need it." Gretchen replied. "Tell me Taylor, where will you go after this?"
"Back to the Emerald City, where I have been asked to rule."
"And you Isaac?"
"The Winkie Country, where I have been asked to rule."
"And you Zac?"
"The forest on the other side of the Hammerhead hill, where I have been asked to rule."
"And so shall be my commands to the monkeys. Now, Daria, your Ruby Ugh Boots will take you over the desert and back to Kansas."
"They will? Then why didn't you tell me in the first place?"
"Would you have believed me?"
"I uhh... no, probably not." She replied ruefully. "How do they work?"
"Knock the heels together three times and say where you want to go."
"Oh thank you! Thank you!"
Then Daria met the gaze of her new friends.
"Oh, I'm going to miss you so much!" she said, hugging them.
Good byes having been said, Daria took hold of Toby, knocked the heels together and said "Take me home to Kansas."
