"Look!" Isaac said, pointing.
They looked. Off in the distance and coming fast was a crowd of winged monkeys.
"Umm, any ideas?" Daria asked nervously.
But no one had any ideas. And the monkeys caught up with them. Some picked up Isaac, and dropped him on rocks so that e became so badly damaged he couldn't get up.
Others grabbed hold of Taylor and pulled out his straw, scattering it all over the place. Due to a slight change of orders, some picked up Zac and started carrying him towards the castle, where they tied him up in a yard. The ones that were left took hold of Daria and took her to the castle as well, but straight to the Wicked Witch.
Then all the monkeys left the West.
"Give me the Ruby Ugh Boots!" the Witch demanded.
"But, but I was told not to." Daria replied.
"But I was told not to." the witch mocked. "All right. If you won't give them to me, then I shall make you my slave."
Daria didn't know what to say to this, and she soon found herself slaving away. But Daria wasn't stupid. She knew that if she gave the witch the shoes (which for some reason she seemed to want so badly) that the witch would treat her even worse, if not kill her. So Daria decided to bide her time, hoping she might find some way of destroying the Wicked Witch.
Due to the Witch's whimsy, she was attempting to harness Zac like a horse to draw her carriage. Something which Zac objected to most vehemently.
"Fine. If you won't let me harness you, then you shall starve!" the witch exploded in exasperation.
Zac just poked out his big lion tongue at her.
Of course, Daria would never let her friend starve. When the witch wasn't looking, she would sneak Zac some food.
**********
It so happened that one day the witch came up with an idea to get the Ruby Ugh Boots. She got an iron bar, and made it invisible. She hung it in the kitchen, where Daria was bound to bang into it when she cleaned.
Everything went to plan. Daria, never seeing the bar, banged into it while mopping the floor. One of the Ruby Ugh Boots flew off. The witch picked it up greedily.
"Hey! That's not fair!" Daria complained. "Give that back!"
The witch cackled evilly.
"Oh you..." and in her irritation, Daria picked up the bucket of water, splashing it over the witch.
"Argh!" The witch screamed. "I'm melting! Melting! Melting! Look what you've done to my beautiful wickedness! Oh what a world, what a world..."
Daria just stood there, gaping.
