Chapter 26

Taylor and Laura were having a quiet stroll in the park, when it suddenly became a not so quiet stroll. Someone stuck a gun to Laura's back.

"Hey there little girl." A voice whispered. "Just be good and no one will get hurt."

Laura could see someone else was behind Taylor with a gun as well. She pretended to go along peacefully when...

Taylor couldn't quite tell what was happening. The dude with the gun at his back suddenly lost his grip and Laura yelled at him to run. So he did. He ran, with Laura close on his heels.

"Quick, we've gotta hide." She panted. "I knocked 'em down, but not out."

Taylor didn't answer except to look for somewhere to hide. The next few minutes became an insane game of cat and mouse.

Then they came across a street with a few people on it. And by the looks of them they could tell they were very lost. Drunks, hookers, you know, that kind of people.

And they were still being followed.

"Oh man." Taylor complained softly.

They were at both ends and coming closer, there was no where to hide.

Laura thought quickly, assessing the situation. There were more than just the two men they had first encountered, and this was a fairly busy street, someone would notice... but these people could hardly be expected to be reliable. Or trustworthy.

Suddenly, to Taylors' utter surprise, he found himself pinned against the wall. But not by the men after them, by Laura. And she was kissing him.

At first he didn't know how to react, then he realised that she was trying to 'blend into the scenery'. Hey, who knows, it might just work.

Trying not to seem out of place, Taylor wrapped his arms around her, and deepened the kiss. He slipped one hand up her shirt and started tracing her bra, while the other one rummaged around with the top of her jeans. And it may be worth adding that if he hadn't been scared out of his wits, he would have enjoyed the experience.

Laura was doing her own share of feeling up, both hands moving between his jeans and his shirts. She wished she hadn't decided to wear jeans instead of a skirt that day - after all they would have blended in much better if she looked like a hooker herself.

But like Taylor, she was far too occupied with the dangerous situation to enjoy this make out session. Both of them were listening out for signs that their pursuers were gone.

Who knew how long they were there for. Neither was certain, but by the time they were convinced they were 'safe' (and the term to be used loosely, after all this street was filled with all sorts of riff-raff) they were panting and flustered. Not to mention their clothes were messy and their hair rumpled.

About half an hour later, they managed to find their way home. And since they had been late, they were obliged to explain what had happened. Which resulted in two very red faces and a lot of silly grins when they came to their brilliant, spur-of-the-moment hiding place.
