Tears were trickling down his eyes; he just couldn't stand it any more. Memories of Wendy and Olivia echoed in his head, he hated seeing the shrink and he was sick of taking anti-depressants. No one would understand, because no one could.
"You've got mail." chirped his computer.
For some strange reason, Taylor hesitated. At this point there was absolutely nothing stopping him. Even if his brothers came running right then, even if Wendy suddenly appeared, even if, even if, oh it didn't matter what, it still wouldn't stop him.
So why did the promise of e-mail?
Slowly, as if he were fighting an unknown force that was compelling him to his computer, Taylor edged away from the balcony. He sat down and checked his e-mail. There was one, single message:
Hi!
Please don't delete this straight away, whoever U R. I know U don't know who I am any more than I know who U R. 1 of my hobbies is sending e-mails to addys I just make up off the top of my head :)
My name is Moira. I'm 18 and really, really bored. Lol.
As Taylor continued reading, he felt the beginnings of a smile. Although these faded quickly, it was the closest he had been to a real, genuine smile in months.
He pressed the 'reply' button.
