Chapter 30

"Wow, this is a neat office you have here." Isaac commented.

Mel smiled.

"Thanks."

"I think it's so cool how you were able to get this little business of yours started."

"Well, I had to do something. You know how I hate being dependant on other people."

"Sure I do."

"What? What are you grinning at?"

Isaac shrugged, but kept on grinning.

"Oh it's just... you don't like having to depend on other people just to live your everyday life, and yet, you expect little junior here to do just that."

Mel gave him a look that was an obvious attempt to hide a smile.

"Well, that's different. Alex isn't exactly physically or mentally capable to look after him or herself."

"Alex?"

"It's a unisex name. See, I don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet, and I don't want people calling him or her an 'it'. And saying 'him or her' and 'he or she' all the time is tongue tiring."

"Ok, I'll buy that."

"I'm not exactly selling anything."

Isaac chuckled.

"Drat, and here I was prepared to pay top dollar."

"Can it Ike."

"Why?"

"Because there are times where you should just stop."

"Why?"

"Because if you take it any further it get old and boring and pointless."

"Why?"

Mel gave him a look. Isaac grinned.

"You are such a clown."

"Well thank you. I do try."

"Uh huh, yeah, sure."

"Don't worry, you're not the first to think it comes naturally. But really, it takes a lot of years of hard work to get as good as I am."

"And the pigs are fed and ready to fly."
