Chapter 23

"Zac don't be rude." Taylor retorted.

"Rude to who?"

"To Moira! You know, the girl standing right next to me."

They looked at each other. Then at Taylor.

"Umm, Tay, I mean, I wouldn't actually believe you would do this but I have to ask... are you on drugs?" Isaac asked.

"No he's on carpet. And not very good carpet I might add. Looks a little worn to me." Moira joked.

Taylor laughed. Everyone else started.

"What?" Taylor demanded.

"I think we'd better go back to the hotel, and you should have a good night's sleep." Diana said.

"But Moira only just arrived!" Taylor objected.

"Uhh, well, she can come too, uhh, I guess..."

"Great!" then Taylor turned to Moira. "You can come right?"

"Oh sure."

"Cool." He said taking her hand.

Isaac and Zac looked at him strangely. They all looked at Taylor strangely. Zac appeared to want to say something, but seemed to think better of it and changed his mind. They headed out to the parking lot in a curious silence.

Well, except for Taylor and Moira talking merrily to each other, not even considering what the others strange behaviour meant.

**********

Zac kept looking up from the TV in their hotel room to Taylor.

"Zac would you stop doing that? It's distracting."

"Ike, you've seen The Three Amigos a million times."

"That doesn't mean I won't enjoy it one million and one times."

"Doesn't that bother you? Taylor talking to himself?"

Isaac looked over at Taylor, standing on the hotel room balcony and having a cheerful conversation with Moira.

"You know something Zac? I think it should bother me. But it doesn't."

"It doesn't?"

"When was the last time you saw Tay that happy?"

Zac stopped to think.

"I think... the day before he broke up with Wendy. Man, I'll never forget that. One day he was head over heals in love, the next..." he trailed off.

"I know Zac. I know."
