That evening, when Taylor was asleep, Zac pulled Isaac aside.
"Ike?"
"Yep?"
"I, umm, I was wondering... do you know exactly what happened with Tay and Olivia?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Well, I accidentally saw part of a e-mail Tay was writing to Moira today. I didn't mean to read it - it was an accident I swear, but he was... he was telling her about Olivia, I got that much and... and..."
"And what Zac?"
"Apparently she bashed him up."
"Zac, we all know that. We saw her remember?"
"I'm not talking about that one time. I mean regularly."
Isaac's eyes widened.
"Regularly?" he repeated.
Zac nodded.
"Damn... well, that explains a few things about his behaviour doesn't it?"
"Yeah... look, please, don't let Tay know that, we know. I mean, you know what he's been like lately..."
"Of course."
There was a contemplative silence between the two.
"I wonder why he's telling Moira and not us?" Zac asked, frowning.
"Maybe he think it's easier to tell her."
"Easier? We grew up together Ike! He should know he can tell us anything!"
"I know that Zac. But be honest Zac. If you had... if you were getting beat up by your girlfriend on a regular basis would you tell us?"
"Yep."
Isaac gave him a look.
"Well, I would!"
"Even if she was as, ahh, weak-looking as Olivia?"
Zac paused.
"Ok, ok, I see your point. But I certainly wouldn't continue being her boyfriend just so she could beat me up more!"
Isaac grinned and nodded thoughtfully.
"I wonder why Taylor did?"
