Chapter 16

Sky diving

“So... what are we going to do?” asked Isaac. “We can’t hang around here, but how can we leave?”

“With great difficulty,” Fred said again.

“You are just so helpful, Fred. Now shut up,” Taylor replied, rolling his eyes.

“Let’s jump off the cloud,” Zac said suddenly.

They stared at him.

“Zac, this might come as a huge surprise to you, but if we jump off the cloud, we’ll land splat on the ground,” Taylor informed him.

“Will we?”

“Let me introduce to you a thing called ‘gravity’,” Isaac answered, saying his words slowly, as if Zac was an idiot. “What goes up, must come down. We jump off cloud, we fall down, long, long way and due to all the force behind us, when we land we break every bone in body.”

“Look, The Narrator isn’t gonna let us die. If we die in the middle of the story, what she gonna write about then?”

“Maybe it’ll end the story,” Isaac grinned.

“But this is only Chapter 16!” Zac objected. “Who finishes stories at Chapter 16?”

“Who doesn’t finish stories at Chapter 16?” Isaac asked the same time Taylor inquired “How do you know what chapter this is?”

“Ahh, stuff you chickens! I’m jumping!”

And on that declaration, Zac ran to the edge of the cloud and jumped off.

“Cowabunga!”

Taylor and Isaac looked at each other.

“After you,” said Taylor.

“No, after you.”

“No, I insist, Ike, after you.”

“No, really, Tay, after you.”

“After you.”

“After you.”

“After -” but Taylor interrupted himself spotting Fred jump off.

“We’re not gonna left Fred make us look like chickens are we?” Isaac asked.

“No, we certainly are not. I’ll got first.”

“No, me.”

“No, me!”

“No! Me!”

“No! Me, me, me!”

And so on until they realised that they had jumped off and didn’t know who went first.
