Chapter 23

"You know, swimming is so much easier when you're not chained to someone." Deanna commented.

"I hadn't noticed." Jasmine replied, with a small grin.

"Well duh." Isaac put in. "Of course you wouldn't. Considering you and Zac just went down the waterslide all the time except when you were splashing and thoroughly annoying everyone else."

Zac and Jasmine just grinned cheekily.

"Hello? Like lunch?" Libby cut in. "Am I the only one who's hungry?"

"Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I've gotten rather full on pool water." Taylor joked.

"Eww." Deanna said. "But I know what you mean."

Libby rolled her eyes.

They eventually all agreed to raid the local hamburger stand before heading back to the house for showers to wash off all the pool water. Isaac tried ringing Karina again, but to no avail.

Finally they headed off to the cinema to catch a movie. Ahh, then there was the dilemma of what movie.

The guys didn't want to watch a chick flick. Deanna didn't like horror flicks. Libby wouldn't have anything to do with sci-fi. The guys and Jasmine had already seen the action movies. None of them wanted to watch an animated one. They eventually settled on the only comedy being showed.

It was a good thing that they were early going into the cinema, because it filled up fast. They were all able to sit in the one row. Libby next to the aisle and Isaac. On the other side of Isaac was Taylor, then Deanna, Jasmine and finally Zac.

The cameras weren't allowed in there with them, so they just hung around outside. Fortunately, the foyer was air conditioned.

"Ahh, three sleeps to go." Taylor said, stretching his arms. "Well, actually, after tonight, only two sleeps to go before we are outta here."

"Hmm... is that a good thing, or a bad thing?" Deanna asked with a yawn.

"Depend on who you're talking to. And who you're talking about." Zac grinned. "For instance..."

And here he looked directly at Libby.

"I sincerely hope Libby, that I never see the likes of you again." He said.

"Shove it up your a-"

"Oh shut up." Jasmine said. "Bicker, bicker, bicker. That's all you people ever do."

"C'mon guys. We've had a good day despite the heat. Don't wreck it now." Isaac complained.

"Yeah." Deanna agreed. "Let's just go to sleep ok?"

Eventually they all drifted off. Isaac was the last. He just couldn't stop thinking about Karina and Deanna. Surely, it would be so much better once this was all over and he wouldn't have to see Deanna ever again.

But he didn't want it to end like that.
